Dinner for The Point Girl’s Retreat
On January 11, 2019, The Bianca Nikol Merge with Mercy Foundation hosted dinner for The Point Girl’s Retreat.
The Point is a youth community center in Parkesburg, PA. The Point aims to address the spiritual, emotional, academic, and physical needs of young people by partnering with local churches, businesses, schools, and social service organizations. The Point provides a 22000 square foot facility that includes a 6000 sq ft gymnasium, indoor skate park, a cafeteria that seats up to 80, a commercial kitchen, a 3000 sq ft Girl’s Room which includes a hair salon, nail salon, kitchen, and lounge area.
They partner with 25 Churches and have over 300 volunteers. Every evening a different church provides a meal for the students, a message from the Bible, and spends time engaging the youth in various games and activities. The foundation prepared and served pizza and salad for dinner.
This activity was an opportunity for the foundation to support an amazing cause, impact the community in a powerful way and have a fun filled experience. At the end of every meal, the girls would put on a skit to thank the volunteers.
The foundation enjoyed participating in The Point Girl’s Retreat and plan on doing something again for them in the near future.
